What
about Sponsoring a Greyhound
We have quite a few greyhounds
that will never find homes because of their age, disposition or
their special needs. These dogs still deserve the right to be a
part of a family and we have foster families that are currently
allowing them to live with them. These dogs also cost money,
food, vet care, heartworm prevention and some need other
medications on a regular basis. Would you consider helping out
with the cost of their care?
Caring for a grey costs about
$800 - $1100 per year (for the basics). As we don't expect any
one person to sponsor a grey entirely we would appreciate if you
would be willing to help with a portion of these expenses? It's
Tax Deductible!
We have greys that will probably
never get a home as well as the greys we have available for
adoption. If you would like to sponsor one that is up for
adoption we will let you know when he/she has found a home and
you would be able to choose another to foster if you would like.
1 month of Food - $35-40 per grey
Dental - $150 - $170 (2 times a year
on the older greys)
Spay/Neuter - for greys that are just
getting into the program - $165.00 (includes
vaccines)
Yearly Vaccinations - $80.00
Heartworm Preventative - $44.00 for a
6 month supply
Flea/Tick control - $10.00/ month
You can sponsor a portion of a
Grey's care - or if you would like, to sponsor a grey per month.
$2.50 / day for a younger grey
$5.00 / day for an older grey
Any grey can have any number of
sponsors as their bills do start to add up.
OR HOW
ABOUT A MINIMAL CONTRIBUTION PER MONTH - $5.00 - $10.00 a month
would help us with our food bill. And with several sponsors we
would be able to help even more retired racers. ($10.00/month is
less than $0.33 per day - (less than a cost of a Soda - wouldn't
you give up a soda a day so that the life of a grey can be saved??)

Hugo came to us as a 10 y/o boy. He is very
happy where he is and "smiles" all the time. He would be love to be
adopted but we know that it would take a very special person to adopt a senior
dog, but maybe you are special and would be able to help us in his care.

Dunkin Donut
Dunkin is a great red female. She is very sweet
and loving. Great with children. She is 12 years old now and
family issues are making it so they can no longer care for her. She
is in the care of one of our foster homes where she will live out the rest of
her life. (posted 1/18/03)
